The British Druid Association is launched, officially on May 1st 2009.

The British Druid Association is the membership association for  Druids.

Membership is open to Druids, Bards, Ovates and to our wider Celtic Pagan family; followers of the old ways and supporters of the Druids.

Druids have long suffered from the fragmented and disorganised nature of our tradition, whilst this is also sometimes our strength, there is often a need for unity and common understanding. We exist to protect and advance the great tradition of Druidry for the benefit of our spirituality and well being of our members by providing that unity and common understanding of purpose without taking away the individuality or independence of individuals or existing groups.

As the popularity and influence of our tradition grows there is a need for us to identify best practice, otherwise the best among us risk being tainted by the bad behaviour or incompetence of the worst.

The British Druid Association is not an Order or Grove, it is the place of all Druids interested in setting high standards and in working together for the greater good.

Members do not have to be British or live in the UK to be a part of the British Druid Association as we welcome international membership.

Having a presence within a group that crosses all boundaries of orders and groves, associated with high standards, truth and honour, and being part of a community of like minded people.

Being associated to the  group with mutually agreed standards of behaviour capable of disassociating us from the disreputable.

Being involved at the forefront of re-establishing the Druid wisdom as a voice that is respected and listened to in the world once again.

We hope to establish other benefits such as grants, conferences, forum, web site and course endorcements...this is a new beginning
